The Netherlands will meet England in the second EURO 2024 semifinal on Wednesday, July 10th. The odds for this one paint an interesting picture: the best sportsbooks expect a close and low-scoring match, similarly to the Spain vs. France odds.
Both teams had their ups and downs in the tournament but got the job done. Who will make it to the final? Keep reading for my analysis of both sides, an overview of the odds, and a betting prediction for Netherlands vs. England.

On paper, England is slightly favored. However, Netherlands have shown us they mean business and, even in terms of the odds, don’t seem too far from the English.
To better understand the tactical complexity behind the second EURO 2024 semifinal clash, we’ll be taking a closer look at both sets of players next!
Before we get there, you should know that BetUS offers plenty of other markets for this match, so feel free to check them out.
England – How Is This Team in the Last 4?
I can’t believe my eyes; England is through to the semifinals without showing ANYTHING. Yes, some of you will call me a hater, but let’s be objective here for a second.
England weren’t the better team than Slovakia, yet they went through thanks to Bellingham’s last-minute screamer. They weren’t superior against Switzerland either and required a world-class goal from Saka to reach the penalty shootout.
The team is in the semifinals, but this unimaginative style of soccer doesn’t inspire confidence. The Dutch are a capable team that can take full advantage if England barely shows up once again.
A good example of a player who needs to step is Phil Foden, who is yet to be found in Germany. It will be interesting to see if Southgate will introduce some changes ahead of the semifinals. Knowing his conservative style of play, he’ll send out the exact same eleven he did against the Swiss.
England’s team has plenty of potential, but they’re obviously not doing themselves any justice. They’re playing slowly, overly passively, and plain dull football. Without Bellingham and Saka’s magical moments in previous rounds, England would’ve been out by now.

They can’t rely on moments of individual quality, because every new opponent is a step up from the previous one. Slovakia and Switzerland almost made England pay, so you can rest assured that the likes of the Netherlands, Spain, and France can end the country’s challenge.
The Netherlands – Slowly Snowballing to Greatness
Now let’s talk about the Dutch! First things first, they qualified for the knockouts as the best third-place team on the tournament with 4 points and 4:4 goal difference. They were in the group D, commonly known as the group of death, which saw Austria shock everyone and finish first.
The Dutch were lucky Romania finished first in group E. The round 16 clash between the two finished with 3:0 in favor of the Netherlands. The team finally showed up defensively and Donyell Malen came in as a sub to score two goals in the last ten minutes.
In the quarterfinal against Turkey, the Netherlands managed to come back from behind by continuing their late goalscoring tradition. Against Romania, they scored two in the last ten minutes. Against Turkey, they scored two in the last twenty minutes. Talk about resilience and not backing down, eh?
Big goal, big performance 💪

Tactically, Koeman’s setup is a classic 4-3-3 with 4 world-class defenders in Dumfries, de Vrij, van Dijk, and Ake. Xavi Simons is playing the main center midfielder, surrounded by Schouten and Reijnders. Up front, Netherlands is doing well with Depay in the middle, Gakpo on the left and Bergwijn on the right.
The Dutch have a fantastic set of in-form players and are bound to give England a proper run for their money. This game could easily go either way.
Netherlands vs. England Prediction and Betting Pick
There are several options I’d go with for this one, but one betting pick for Netherlands vs. England seems particularly appealing. We saw three draws in the quarterfinals because the tournament is very close this year.
We should witness more close games in the semis, so I like the draw here, available at +190.
