We all know Argentina’s Lionel Messi hasn’t won the FIFA World Cup yet, but having a World Cup win on your résumé isn’t the thing that defines the career of a Soccer player. Messi is one of the three best ever, and even if La Albiceleste don’t win the World Cup, Messi is still a living legend.
This will be Messi’s (164 Caps) last World Cup. And if Argentina fans need something to hold onto, know that EA Sports has nailed every World Cup winner since 2010, and using its simulations using FIFA 23, has predicted Argentina will be lifting the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
The six matches in 2022 FIFA World Cup Group C will be held from Tuesday, November 22 to Wednesday, November 30 and will see the top two teams moving on to the Round of 16 in December. 2022 World Cup Group C Odds have Argentina as the prohibitive favorites.
From Online FIFA World Cup betting website BetOnline, here are 2022 World Cup Group C odds to win this group.

Argentina -225
- Confederation: CONMEBOL
- Pot: 1
- Method of Qualification: CONMEBOL Round Robin runners-up
- World Cup Appearances: 18
- Last Appearance: 2018
- Best Performance: Winners (1978, 1986)
- FIFA Ranking: #3
- Odds to Qualify Round of 16: -1250
- Odds to Win World Cup: +900
Argentina is ranked #3 by FIFA and hasn’t lost a match since 2019, it won the 202 Copa America and it defeated Euro 2020 champions Italy in La Finalissima.
Argentina Head Coach Lionel Scaloni has a loaded Roster heading into Qatar. In goal, La Albiceleste will be using Emiliano Martinez (Aston Villa), and he has D Nicolas Otamendi (Benfica), MF Ángel Di Maria (Inter) and fantastic Striker Lauro Martínez (Inter).
Martínez has scored 21 goals for La Albiceleste in 40 games and he tallied 5 goals in WC Qualifying, one in la Finalissima and put three in the back of the net in Copa America. With Messi, Di Maria, and Martínez, Argentina can create goals much easier than most in this field of 32.
Having a guy like Messi makes that a given as European heavyweights Barcelona (Spain’s La Liga) and Paris Saint-Germain (France’s Ligue 1) well known. Messi now plies his wares for PSG, but there have been rumors lately of Messi heading to the MLS to play for Inter Miami CF.
In 2022 Argentina has so far gone an unbeaten 7-1-0 (W-D-L) and scored 3 or more goals in 5 of its last 6 games. But beating up on Jamaica (3-0), Honduras (3-0), and Estonia (5-0) isn’t anything to write home about. Along with Brazil, La Albiceleste is the class of South America and dangerous.
Argentina will open up play on Tuesday, November 22 and current World Cup Group C odds from BoL see them massive -650 favorites in the 3-way market in Match 8 with Saudi Arabia at +2150 and a Draw at +700. Don’t bet on the Draw here. Or Saudi Arabia. Think Argentina and Over (2).
In the Goal Line market, the odds are Argentina -2 (-115). This seems like the market to bet on in this Group C match as a 2-0 First Half lead by the faves is to be expected with either Messi or Martínez—or both—likely tallying for big favorites Argentina at Lusail Iconic Stadium in Lusail.

- Confederation: CONCACAF
- Pot: 2
- Method of Qualification: CONCACAF Third Round, runners-up
- World Cup Appearances: 17
- Last Appearance: 2016
- Best Performance: Quarterfinals (1970, 1986)
- FIFA Ranking: #13
- Odds to Qualify Round of 16: -125

Mexico, along with North American neighbors Canada and the USA, will be hosting the 2026 FIFA World Cup. However, now is the time for Head Coach Gerardo Martino and El Tri to try to make some noise with Captain and MF Andrés Guardado, F Raúl Jiménez, and veteran MF Héctor Herrera.
Noticeably missing from Mexico’s Roster are Carlos Vela and Javier “Chicharito” Hernández. But El Tri seem to have enough firepower and have one of the planet’s best Goalkeepers in 37-year-old Guillermo Ochoa, He has already played in many big international competitions with El Tri.
Mexico has played more matches in 2022 than most national teams heading into this World Cup. It has a 7-5-3 mark with its three losses to South American sides Uruguay, Paraguay, and Colombia. So, the two best CONMEBOL sides are way better than the two from CONCACAF.
El Tri will face Poland in a huge game for both sides. The 2022 World Cup Group C Odds see Mexico currently at +177, Poland at +177, and a Draw at +220 with the Total at 2o -115 for the match scheduled for Tuesday, November 22 at Stadium 974 in the Qatari capital of Doha.
These two teams are very familiar with each other and Match 7 of the tournament will just be the latest. They have played 8 times with one meeting here in the FIFA World Cup with Poland winning 2-1 in the Group Stage in 1978.
The loser, if there is one, will be in a very hard spot in Group C with a date with Messi and Argentina still on the November horizon.

Poland +425
- Confederation: UEFA
- Pot: 3
- Method of Qualification: UEFA Second Round Path B winners
- World Cup Appearances: 9
- Last Appearance: 2018
- Best Performance: Third Place (1974, 1982)
- FIFA Ranking: #26
- Odds to Qualify Round of 16: +115
- Odds to Win World Cup: 200/1
FIFA ranks underappreciated Poland at #26 (Iran is #20), so Robert Lewandowski (134 Caps) and the Orły are a side no one will want to face. I expect them to give Argentina a challenge later in Group C play. Head Coach Czesław Michniewicz and Poland should not be taken lightly.
Still, a loss to Mexico in the opener would be catastrophic, with 3 points gone and a date with Messi coming. Mexico won’t be losing to Saudi Arabia. Neither will Poland. So, a Draw in that game may mean 4 points each at the end of four games and a need for a Goal Differential tiebreaker.
In international 2022 play, star Lewandowski (Barcelona) and Poland have gone 4-2-3 with a free win against Russia and losses to strong UEFA sides Belgium (twice) and the Netherlands. The Biało-czerwoni (The White and Red) scored 0 goals in those three matches.
Captain Lewandowski has some great teammates in Goalkeeper Wojciech Szczęsny (Juventus), D and Vice Captain Kamil Glik (98 Carps, 6 Goals), MF Kamil Grosicki (86 Caps), MF Grzegorz Krychowiak (93 caps), F Arkadiusz Milik (63 Caps), and F Krzysztof Piątek (24 Caps).

Saudi Arabia 28/1
- Confederation: AFC
- Pot: 4
- Method of Qualification: AFC Group B winners
- World Cup Appearances: 6
- Last Appearance: 2018
- Best Performance: Round of 16 (1994)
- FIFA Ranking: #51
- Odds to Qualify Round of 16: +650
- Odds to Win World Cup: 750/1
Saudi Arabia is the co- longest shot at 750/1 to win 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar and the Head Coach of Saudi Arabia is Hervé Renard and the Captain is MF Salman Al-Faraj. Worth noting for Soccer bettors here is how few Goals have been scored in Saudi Arabia games.
In 12 matches in 2022 there has been only one Saudi Arabian game with 2 goals which was a 2-0 loss to Japan on February 1 in a WCQ. The Green Men didn’t score a goal at all in 6 of the 12 contests (50%). The average number of Goals in those 12 games was just 1.0 (12 goals; SA 6 OPP 6).
When the USA and Saudi Arabia met on September 27 in a Friendly, it ended 0-0 and everyone drove home and wondered why the hell they back this Sport. A 0-0 Friendly is like kissing your sister if she were a blow-up doll?
This train seems to have gone off the track. My point here is look at the Under in all Saudi Arabia games.
13 days until the #WorldCup! Today we feature Salem Al-Dawsari and wonder if he can lead Saudi Arabia back into the W column on the world stage. 🇸🇦 pic.twitter.com/UllkzhZpOW

World Cup Group C Predictions
When making your Group C wagers, remember how deep Argentina is and that Saudi Arabia seldom scores against quality opponents. This 2022 FIFA World Cup group will be won by Argentina.
The whole thing may be a battle between the Mexican GK Ochoa and Polish Striker Lewandowski, and it’s hard to hold Lewa down. If there is a list of Dark Horses who may make it to the Round of 8, Poland may be that team.
🏆 Their sights are set on a third #FIFAWorldCup title
Can Lionel Messi finally lead @Argentina to the ultimate prize?
