UFC 303 Betting Odds: Pereira vs. Prohazka Best Bets

The UFC 303 odds for this card have changed dramatically, with several fights being called off. I wondered here if Conor McGregor would fight Michael Chandler at this event. The answer is no, as McGregor is injured. A light heavyweight bout between former champion Jamahal Hill and Khalil Roundtree Jr. was also on the card, but Hill is injured and Roundtree Jr. took a tainted supplement.

However, there is still plenty to choose from at UFC betting sites. Light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira will defend his title against Jiri Prochazka, who lost to the Brazilian at UFC 205 when the belt was vacated. The two will settle their score at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada on Saturday, June 29. You can watch all the action on pay-per-view.

I’ll have UFC 303 betting picks and analysis for this bout, and two more fights, below. Take a look at my UFC 303 predictions and best bets, with odds courtesy of BetUS!

Alex Pereira vs. Jiri Prochazka Odds, Prediction, and Betting Pick

  • Alex Pereira: -130
  • Jiri Prochazka: EVEN

It’s no surprise that UFC 303 betting odds lean towards Alex Pereira (10-2), who knocked out Jiri Prochazka (30-4-1) in November 2023 to win the vacated light-heavyweight belt.

However, at EVEN odds, Prochazka is a very dangerous underdog at online betting sites. He enters the fight supremely confident, stating in an interview with The MMA Hour, and reported by MMA Fighting:

“Not just a chance (when asked if he is looking for revenge). I will win the fight. I will win the fight and I believe in that, and I will do that, that’s all. I will not step into a fight where I don’t believe in that, in myself. I already accept that I will do everything and right now is the great chance to show that.”

Given what happened in their last fight, Pereira deserves to be the favorite at the best offshore sportsbooks.

Prochazka has more MMA experience, but Pereira has 40 kickboxing fights under his belt as well. You may also remember the Brazilian’s rivalry with former UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya. Before their two UFC fights, Pereira defeated Adesanya twice in kickboxing, once by knockout.

This fight is going to largely be fought standing up, although Pereira did catch Prochazka with a guillotine in their first match. “Poatan” has never submitted an MMA opponent, while his opponent has done it on three occasions, including a rear-naked choke win over Glover Teixeira at UFC 275 in June 2022 to win the 205-pound belt.

It should be noted that Pereira trains with Teixeira, and he has a black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu. “Poatan” can handle himself if the fight goes to the ground.

Recent Performances and Form

Pereira’s last five fights have come against champions or former champions. He took the middleweight title from Adesanya, then lost it to his rival five months later. He then moved up to 205 pounds, eking out a win over former light-heavyweight champion Jan Blachowicz.

Pereira won the vacated light-heavyweight title against Prochazka, before knocking out Jamahal Hill at UFC 300. “Poatan” isn’t afraid of the spotlight, especially taking this fight on short notice when the McGregor-Chandler fight fell through.

Pereira’s Last Five Fight Results:

  • WIN vs. Jamahal Hill via KO, April 13, 2024
  • WIN vs. Jiri Prochazka via TKO, November 11, 2023
  • WIN vs. Jan Blachowicz via Split Decision, July 29, 2023
  • LOSS vs. Israel Adesanya via KO, April 8, 2023
  • WIN vs. Israel Adesanya via TKO, November 12, 2022

Prochazka hasn’t been fighting slouches, either. He defeated Volkan Oezdemir, who is still a top-10 fighter in the UFC, in July 2020. Next in line was a win against Dominick Reyes, who fought for the 205-pound title twice. Prohazka then took the belt from Teixeira in June 2022, but he had to vacate the title due to a shoulder injury later.

He returned to the Pereira loss in November 2023, but Prochazka made short work of fifth-ranked Aleksandar Rakic in April 2024.

Prochazka’s Last Five Fights

  • WIN vs. Aleksandar Rakic via TKO, April 13, 2024
  • LOSS vs. Alex Pereira via TKO, November 11, 2023
  • WIN vs. Glover Teixeira via Submission, June 12, 2022
  • WIN vs. Dominick Reyes via KO, May 1, 2021
  • WIN vs. Volkan Oezdemir via KO, July 12, 2020

Pereira vs. Prochazka Betting Pick

You should definitely take a look at the UFC betting props for this match. This fight is not going to go the distance, and that is one of the top UFC 303 best bets you can make. In fact, BetUS has +300 odds for the bout to go to a decision, but someone will be finished in this fight. So, pick the fighter you want to win, and then look at their KO/TKO/DQ odds.

I’m going with the champion to retain his title as Pereira’s kickboxing is world-class. He took some of Prochazka’s best shots in the first fight and caught the Czech fighter with a short right hook to end it. You can play it safe and bet on Pereira’s moneyline betting odds of -130, but I’m suggesting Pereira by KO/TKO/DQ at +105 as my UFC 303 betting prediction.

Ian Machado Garry vs. Michael Page Odds, Prediction, and Betting Pick

  • Ian Machado Garry: -150
  • Michael Page: +120

This welterweight clash doesn’t have the stakes of Pereira-Prochazka, but it should be exciting to watch. Ian Machado Garry (14-0) is seventh in the UFC’s welterweight rankings, and the undefeated Irishman claimed to be “not interested” in fighting Michael Page (22-2), who is ranked 14th, in an interview with The MMA Hour and reported by MMA Weekly.

"I'm still not interested in it (the fight with Page). I have no interest in it.    Here's the way that I look at it.  I'm undefeated.  I've beaten everybody put in front of me in the best way I believe I can.  And I go out there and get my hand raised any way, shape, or form possible.  That is my job.  When I do that, I fight up because my goal is to be the world champion."

However, Garry should not overlook Page, a decorated kickboxer who moved from Bellator to the UFC in December 2023. Page offers some fantastic UFC 303 betting value here.

Garry has a black belt in judo, and he is a very patient fighter that will look to keep this fight standing up. That’s just fine by Page, who can fight out of either the orthodox or traditional stance. He keeps his opponents on their toes with his elusive movement. Page also likes to rile up his opponent during matches, which has caused some to lose their focus.

Garry talks more outside the octagon than inside, and is embroiled in feuds with former UFC middleweight champion Sean Strickland and Colby Covington. Garry also claims that Page has “fought the majority of his career fighting nobodies” in a Yahoo Sports report. He was complimentary of Page’s striking, but Garry thinks he’s the best in the world.

However, UFC commentator Joe Rogan thinks that Garry is going to have a tough time against “Venom”.

“The difference with Michael ‘Venom’ Page is Michael ‘Venom’ Page is an elite point fighter. His style of hitting and not getting hit and being able to close distance really fast, f*cking nobody is like that. ‘Wonderboy’ (Stephen Thompson) was a kickboxer, a very elite striker, a very elite kickboxer. But the difference between kickboxing and point fighting is that blitz, and Michael ‘Venom’ Page is so unorthodox."

Recent Performances and Form

After winning the Cage Warriors welterweight title, Garry moved to the UFC in July 2021. He defeated Gabriel Green in July 2022, before beating Daniel Rodriguez and Song Kenan by TKO in a two-month span between March and May 2023. “The Future” held off UFC veteran Neil Magny for a unanimous decision in August 2023, then eked out a split-decision win over Geoff Neil in February 2024.

With all due respect to Garry, he hasn’t exactly beaten a murderer’s row of opponents. That said, you can only beat who is in front of you. He has done that, and with style, in numerous instances.

Garry’s Last Five Fights

    • WIN vs. Geoff Neal via Split Decision, February 17, 2024
    • WIN vs. Neil Magny via Unanimous Decision, August 19, 2023
    • WIN vs. Daniel Rodriguez via TKO, May 13, 2023
    • WIN vs. Song Kenan via TKO, March 4, 2023
    • WIN vs. Gabriel Green via Unanimous Decision, July 2, 2022

While Bellator isn’t the UFC, the quality of competition is better than it used to be. Page ended Derek Anderson’s night with a broken nose in May 2021. He then defeated three-time Bellator welterweight champion and two-time tournament winner Douglas Lima in a rematch.

Page lost a close split decision to Logan Storley in an interim welterweight title fight in May 2022, but rebounded to finish Goiti Yamauchi in March 2023. In his UFC debut, Page defeated 14th-ranked Kevin Holland in an entertaining bout.

Page’s Last Five Fights

  • WIN vs. Kevin Holland via Unanimous Decision, March 9, 2024
  • WIN vs. Goiti Yamauchi via TKO, March 10, 2023
  • LOSS vs. Logan Storley via Split Decision, May 13, 2022
  • WIN vs. Douglas Lima via Split Decision, October 1, 2021
  • WIN vs. Derek Anderson via TKO, May 7, 2021

Garry vs. Page Betting Pick

UFC 303 odds are certainly backing Garry, and the Irishman has been very impressive. He probably should have gotten a higher-ranked fighter for his next match. But Page isn’t one to be overlooked, and he has a 4.5-inch reach advantage over Garry.

Page can be a confusing fighter, and it’ll be interesting to see how Garry reacts if things don’t go his way. I think The upcoming opponent is his toughest test yet, and I’m taking the veteran to give Garry his first loss.

Michael Page
