Scottie Scheffler’s (+300) odds to win the US Open have shortened even more! Prior to winning the Memorial Tournament, Scheffler had +400 US Open betting odds.
Now, the price has dropped to +300. Scheffler’s implied probability of winning has improved from 20% to 25%! Money continues to pour in on the world number 1, so we’ll see where his price closes.
Rory McIlroy’s (+1200) odds have regressed over the last week. Currently, McIlroy is in a tie with Xander Schauffele for the second-best odds at +1200. They both share a 7.7% implied chance to win the tournament.

Scheffler has been the hottest golfer on the PGA Tour. There are multiple good reasons why he is a +400 favorite to win the US Open. Certainly, North Carolina sports betting sites near Pinehurst will be writing a lot of Scheffler tickets.

As you can see, everything has come naturally for Scheffler this season. He had a rock-solid 2023 campaign, but the consistently low scores on the golf course this year are something to behold.
What can we learn from these results? Scheffler’s US Open golf betting odds are +300 due to this sharp form. In addition to his win at Augusta National, signature wins against tough fields in the Players Championship and Arnold Palmer Invitational are worth noting.

It was McIlroy’s first tournament win since the 2023 Scottish Open. That was part of a stretch that saw McIlroy finish in the top 10 in 10 events. In the hunt at the Canadian Open, he is finally heating up in 2024.
McIlroy is on the heels of a respectable performance at Muirfield Village Golf Club in the Memorial Tournament. He shot 2-over par for a T15 performance on a tricky course against a tough field.

With McIlroy playing well at the Canadian Open, I can confidently say that he has found his form again. After winning the Wells Fargo Championship, he put in solid work to finish T12 at the PGA Championship.
He fired off a 13-under par for a T4 performance in the Canadian Open two events back. McIlroy’s effort at the Canadian Open reaffirms his status as a threat to win the US Open. Last week, he was in fine form, but a step behind the top players with a T15 finish.
Stats & Performance
If the PGA Tour was a driving contest, McIlroy would have double-digit major championships on his resume. He has consistently been a top-tier golfer with a driver in his hand.
That remains true in 2024, where he ranks first in total driving and driving distance. He’s also been above average in his approach to the green. Where McIlroy has struggled is on the dance floor with the putter.
There have been several times over the last decade when it appeared like McIlroy was going to win his fifth major but couldn’t finish the job in Round 4 because of lackluster putting. This year, however, McIlroy is 65th in putting, so above average at 0.176.

Last year, he shot a 62-under in the opening round of the US Open — the first golfer to record a 62-under in two rounds of majors.
Even if you remove the PGA Championship win, Schauffele has been in great shape this year. He is riding a hot streak of nine top-10 performances in 2024. Additionally, Schauffele has notched six top-5 finishes!

Before winning the PGA Championship, Schauffele almost captured the Wells Fargo Championship. McIlroy held him off for a four-stroke win, but it was Schauffele’s sixth tournament in seven starts where he finished in the top 10.
In his latest effort, Schauffele put together yet another strong performance in the Memorial Tournament in Ohio. He didn’t have enough in the tank to catch Scheffler, but Schauffele had another strong performance in him. It’s been that kind of year for Schauffele!

As expected, Schauffele is amongst the leaders on many top golfer PGA metrics. He is one of the most well-balanced players on the golf course, with no serious weaknesses.
Schauffele can get himself into trouble if he finds the rough, but when his driver is performing, he picks up birdies and pars with relative ease.
Overall, Schauffele ranks second in SG: Total and SG: Tee-to-Green. He’s also in the top 5 in driving and approach shots!

Schauffele’s numbers represent the tremendous form he’s been in recently, on the heels of his first major championship. Only Scheffler has a lower scoring average per round than him.
It was a long time coming for Schauffele, who has come close at majors previously.

Brian Harmon is the 10th-ranked player, according to the latest OWGR update. Not bad for a guy who has among the worst odds of winning the 2024 US Open. Harmon tends to show up when you least expect it.
The 37-year-old native of Savannah, GA, has four top-15 finishes in 2024. Harmon’s best results are T5 in The Sentry and T2 in The Players. The highlight of his career was taking the Open Championship at Royal Liverpool last July.
Harmon has top value as a +10000 longshot in the 2024 US Open.

Another Georgia native, Russell Henley, finds himself on form heading into the US Open. Henley has three top-5 finishes and recently had a top-10 showing in the Wells Fargo Championship.
Although Henley couldn’t get into the hunt in the PGA Championship, he shot a respectable 10-under par to post a T23 performance. Missing only one cut this season, Henley should have a chance to surprise at +10000!

US Open Pinehurst – A Look at the Golf Course
Pinehurst Resort & Country Club’s Course No. 2 is the home of the 2024 US Open. The golf course is located in Pinehurst, North Carolina, a village in Moore County.
The course was designed by legendary golf architect Donald Ross in the early 1900s. Since then, Pinehurst Resort & CC has hosted more golf championships than any other course in the country.
Pinehurst No. 2 consists of 7,543 yards and a 70-par course. There are four par-5 holes, 10 par-4 holes, and four par-3s in the 2024 US Open. The course includes beautiful pine trees on every hole, which are largely flat.
How Many US Opens Has Pinehurst Hosted?
Pinehurst has played host to three US Open tournaments. The 1999, 2005, and 2014 US Opens went to Pinehurst. Martin Kaymer is the most recent US Open winner in 2024.
Kaymer dominated for a final score of 9-under par. He pulled away from Erik Compton and Rickie Fowler, who finished at 1-under par.

There isn’t any betting value on a Scheffler at +300. Although I expect the world number 1 to play well, another player has been playing as confidently as him recently. However, he is getting a much better price to win!
It’s never easy to win back-to-back majors, but Schauffele has the tools and momentum to get it done in North Carolina. He was playing solid golf well before winning the PGA Championship, including 8th in the Masters!
Schauffele already had four top-5 finishes on his resume since January. He came close in the Wells Fargo Championship, Valspar Championship, The Players, The American Express, and Genesis Invitational before striking for his first major.
All of this considered, Schauffele should have the second-best 2024 US Open golf odds behind Scheffler. His true price is closer to +1000 than the current odds of +1200, so consider backing Schauffele at Pinehurst!
