The updated Super Bowl 59 odds suggest that the Kansas City Chiefs are still the team to beat. With the NFL season around the mind-point, it’s time to evaluate the favorites and the most likely dark horses to figure out who’s going to win the Lombardi Trophy in February.
In this piece, I explore the Super Bowl 2024-2025 winner odds of the top NFL betting sites, several other markets related to the big game, and top favorites. If you read until the end, you will also see my Super Bowl prediction and best bets!
Super Bowl 59 Winner Odds
Here are the Super Bowl 59 futures odds, courtesy of Bovada, the bookmaker I’ve used for most markets in this article.
TEAM | ODDS |
---|---|
Kansas City Chiefs | +400 |
Baltimore Ravens | +650 |
Detroit Lions | +700 |
San Francisco 49ers | +750 |
Buffalo Bills | +900 |
Green Bay Packers | +1300 |
Philadelphia Eagles | +1400 |
Houston Texans | +2000 |
Minnesota Vikings | +2000 |
Washington Commanders | +2500 |
Atlanta Falcons | +3000 |
Pittsburgh Steelers | +3300 |
Cincinnati Bengals | +4000 |
Dallas Cowboys | +5000 |
Los Angeles Chargers | +5000 |
It’s not surprising to see the Kansas City Chiefs (+400) as the favorites to win Super Bowl 59. They are back-to-back champions and have already won three Super Bowls over the last five seasons. They play in a relatively weak division and should have no problem hosting multiple home playoff games this season.
Despite dealing with recent injuries, the Chiefs remain a +400 betting favorite to win Super Bowl 59 at the best NFL betting sites. After a bye in Week 6, the Chiefs’ were +500. But after two more wins on the road to go to 7-0, Kansas City’s Super Bowl odds have shifted to +400 at online sportsbooks, and they now have an implied probability of 20% to win their third straight NFL title!
The three teams behind the Chiefs haven’t changed, although they’re in a different order. Baltimore (+650) has moved up from third to second, while Detroit (+700) is in front of San Francisco (+750), who have slipped from second to fourth.
Super Bowl LIX Key Info
Super Bowl LIX (59) will be held at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana on February 9, 2025. That game will be broadcasted by FOX, meaning that Kevin Burkhardt and Tom Brady will be on the call for the NFL’s biggest game.
This is the second Super Bowl broadcast that FOX will have with the last one coming in 2022 (Chiefs-Eagles). It’s also worth noting that Westwood One holds the radio rights for the Super Bowl broadcast.
Taylor Swift had the shortest odds of being named the Super Bowl halftime performer! However, Jay-Z and the NFL ultimately decided to bestow the halftime show on Kendrick Lamar.
2024-25 Super Bowl Favorites
If you’re going to bet on the Super Bowl 2024-2025 winner, you should start your analysis with the favorites. The following teams are the most likely champs next season.
Kansas City Chiefs (+400)
What more needs to be said about the Kansas City Chiefs? They have now won back-to-back Super Bowls and have hoisted the Lombardi Trophy three times since 2019. They entered the 2024 season with the goal to complete the three-peat for the first time in NFL history. The Chiefs are off to a perfect 7-0 start, despite dealing with a host of injuries to the offense, which has struggled.

The Chiefs’ Super Bowl 2024-2025 odds have settled in at +400 heading into NFL Week 9 action, after experiencing an up-and-down road this summer. They opened as a +425 favorite, and then witnessed a jump to +550. Public sentiment was falling on the Chiefs before they dropped to +500 before kickoff for this season.
The defense has been carrying the Chiefs, who are fifth in the league in yards allowed, and points allowed. They only have 15 sacks as a team, but the front seven, led by DT Chris Jones, always seems to be in the backfield! Defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo has been terrific this season with that unit.
The Chiefs have had to be great on that side of the ball, as it has been a tough season for Patrick Mahomes, by his standards. Mahomes has completed 68.4% of his passes for 1,651 yards, eight touchdowns, and he is tied for the NFL lead in interceptions with nine. The two-time MVP has run for 139 yards and a score, and the injuries at receiver has surely hurt his passing chances.
But RB Isiah Pacheco should be returning from a knee injury soon, and he and Kareem Hunt could form a fantastic duo to take some pressure off Mahomes. The Chiefs also traded for WR De’Andre Hopkins, and he had two catches for 29 yards in his debut, a 27-20 win in Las Vegas.
As long as Mahomes is healthy, the Chiefs should be the favorites to win any Super Bowl. He is the undisputed best player in the NFL, and the one you want in pressure situations. Andy Reid is also having a great season, and should be considered in the NFL Coach of the Year odds. As the second richest owner in the NFL, Clark Hunt is likely in for another huge payday!
Baltimore Ravens (+650)
The Ravens know what the Chiefs can do, having lost to them in last year’s AFC championship game, and then again in Week 1, falling 27-20 in Kansas City. Baltimore would love to get another crack at the Chiefs, and they’re 5-3 heading into Week 9!

The Ravens also got a receiver as they picked up WR Diontae Johnson from Carolina. It’s another weapon for QB Lamar Jackson, who is just behind Buffalo QB Josh Allen in the NFL MVP odds! The two-time and defending MVP is seventh in the league in passing and has thrown 17 touchdowns to just two interceptions! His 501 rushing yards is the best among quarterbacks, and he forms a dangerous duo with RB Derrick Henry, who leads the league in rushing with 946 yards.
Jackson still needs to be better late in games, and the defense is in the bottom third of the league in points and yards allowed. He needs some playoff success to elevate his place among NFL quarterbacks, but the Ravens need to clean up some sloppy mistakes on both sides of the ball.
Detroit Lions (+700)
The Lions have moved up to third and quite frankly, the odds are being generous to San Francisco as Detroit has been playing much better this season! Detroit is 6-1 after a 52-14 rout of Tennessee, and they’re heading into a huge Week 9 showdown on the road against their NFC North rivals from Green Bay.
That’s what’s up, JG! 👏

— Detroit Lions (@Lions) October 31, 2024
QB Jared Goff was awesome in October, throwing eight touchdown passes with no interceptions. Against the Titans, Goff was 12-of-15 for only 85 yards, but he threw three touchdowns! RB Jahmyr Gibbs had 127 yards and a score on 11 rushes as the Lions continue to roll.
Just from the eye test, you could make the argument that the Lions are the best team in the NFL. The defense is middle of the pack in yards allowed, but eighth in points allowed, so they bend, but don’t break. Detroit is also second in turnover differential at +10, and second in takeaways with 15. Based on current form, the Lions’s Super Bowl 59 odds look great!
San Francisco 49ers (+750)
To be fair to the 49ers, they’ve been battered by injuries this season. RB Christian McCaffrey has yet to take the field, due to an Achilles injury. WR Brandon Aiyuk is out for the season after a knee injury, and fellow WR Deebo Samuel was battling pneumonia. TE George Kittle has been playing hurt all season long.

— San Francisco 49ers (@49ers) October 28, 2024
But the 49ers fought hard for a crucial 30-24 win over Dallas in Week 8, and now they have a bye in Week 9 to get healthy! If everyone was 100%, the 49ers would have a better record than 4-4, but injuries happen in the NFL, so there are no excuses. But McCaffrey could be back after the bye week, along with WR Jauan Jenning and kicker Jake Moody. The 49ers have also missed linebacker Dre Greenlaw and safety Talanoa Hufanga.
If the 49ers can get healthy, they can make a late-season run, which makes their Super Bowl 59 odds very intriguing!
Best Sleepers For Super Bowl 59
There are always a handful of teams that rise up each season and become legitimate Super Bowl contenders. The Lions, Packers, and Texans certainly qualify from the 2023 season with all three teams reaching the Divisional Round of the playoffs.
Which teams could be potential Super Bowl sleepers in 2024/25? Here are three teams to watch going into the year. Let’s dive into our top longshot Super Bowl 59 predictions:
Green Bay Packers (+1300)
Green Bay has a massive matchup against Detroit at home this week, and a win would be a huge boost to their Super Bowl 59 odds! QB Jordan Love looks to be healthy, while RB Josh Jacobs just racked up 127 yards on the ground in a 30-27 win in Jacksonville!

— Green Bay Packers (@packers) October 31, 2024
The Packers are well-coached and consistent on both sides of the ball, and they’re fourth in the league with a +7 in turnover differential, so they don’t beat themselves. At 6-2, the Packers are positioned for playoff success, but they need to be Detroit to prove they’re the best team in the NFC North, which is probably the toughest division in the conference!
Philadephia Eagles (+1400)
The Eagles haven’t been pretty this season, but they played their best game of the season in a 37-17 demolition of Cincinnati on the road! QB Jalen Hurts was 16-of-20 for 236 yards and a touchdown, and he ran for three touchdowns, while Saquon Barkley added 108 yards on the ground!

— Philadelphia Eagles (@Eagles) November 1, 2024
The 5-2 Eagles host Jacksonville in Week 9 action, and a win would keep them within distance of 6-2 Washington in the NFC East. I’m giving the Eagles the edge with their experience, as the Commanders are still led by a rookie quarterback in Jayden Daniels, who has been brilliant this season. But we know what the Eagles can do, and if they get hot over the second half of the season, they’ll throw their name in the ring in the NFC!
Super Bowl Winner Prediction
Finally, I feel obliged to share my Super Bowl 59 winner prediction. The obvious choice is to back the Chiefs, but the odds for them are too short and there’s a reason no team has managed to three-peat so far.
I’m leaning towards the Detroit Lions at +700, as they’ve been the most consistent team in the league on both sides of the ball. The offense has enough firepower to play with the best teams, but they can also win the gritty, tough games. Head coach Dan Campbell is another Coach of the Year candidate, and you’ll never hear him say his team is soft.
At +700, the betting value with the Lions is a solid bet, but keep an eye on this week’s game against Green Bay. If the Lions lose, you’ll get a better price, and they’re still a better team than the Packers. Take the Detroit Lions at Bovada!
