With just two games left in the 2022 NFL regular season, the Las Vegas Raiders decided to bench starting QB Derek Carr for Jarrett Stidham in order to “evaluate” what else they had.
But things quickly went from bad to worse for Carr and the team. News broke that Carr would stay away from the team which then turned into Derek’s time being over in Las Vegas.
However, this article isn’t about Las Vegas’ poorly run franchise. We would be here for a week if we dissected the ups and downs of the decisions that the Raiders have made over the last decade.
Instead, we’ll be focusing on Carr’s future and where he will end up as we examine the latest NFL prop bet courtesy of BetOnline.

Carr on the Way Out of Las Vegas
While Carr looks like he has been sacrificed on the Raiders’ roster, his premonition that he shouldn’t be their problem is a legitimate stance.
Carr started this season at (+15000) to be the NFL MVP. Many thought with the addition of Davante Adams, and Jacobs as the feature back, that the Fresno State Bulldog would potentially post odds similar to last season.
Derek Carr odds had moved up to (+2200) earlier in the season before he dealt with a monumental drop.
Also, NFL betting sites show that Carr is UNDER 29.5 touchdown passes (-110) with 24 and well UNDER a projected total of 4,450.5 yards (-110) where he has 3,552 passing yards.
The completions and attempts were the lowest of Carr’s career while the 3,522 yards were only superseded by his 3,270 yards in 2014 which was his rookie season.
Fourth-year Raiders running back Josh Jacobs currently has 323 rushes for 1,608 yards and 12 touchdowns as his play had been, by far, the best of his career.
When comparing and analyzing Carr’s numbers this season with a healthy Jacobs, Carr’s falloff could be because of Jacobs’ efficiency in the running game.
McDaniels’ is 17-27 and was fired as head coach of the Denver Broncos in 2010 after accruing an 11-17 ledger, so questioning his head coaching acumen before Carr as a quarterback should be an issue.

Derek Carr Predictions Start With the Improving Jets
When planning for the 2023 NFL season, there was never a likely scenario where current Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers and Raiders QB Derek Carr would end up with new digs in the season afterward.
Sportsbooks look at the New York Jets (+300) as the favorite to pick up Carr as they were fourth at (+550) to obtain Rodgers during the last week of December.
So far in the two seasons, Wilson has completed only 55 percent of his passes with 15 touchdown tosses and 18 interceptions.
Carr would help the Jets raise their offensive attack as they have lost five in a row after starting the season at 5-2. The Jets have only scored three touchdowns in the last five games while kicking 11 field goals.
Colts’ Pursuit of Carr Would Not Be a Surprise
As the Indianapolis Colts (+350) went forward with QB Matt Ryan, who came over from Atlanta, the squad actually fired a solid head coach in Frank Reich to welcome former Pro Bowler Jeff Saturday, fresh off the set at ESPN.
While Saturday is a Pro Bowl center, he obviously lacked what it would take now to lift a veteran like Ryan and bring him to a level that he could allow Indianapolis to compete.
Ryan has played in 12 games and has completed 67 percent of his passes with just 14 touchdown passes while recording 13 interceptions. The 461 pass attempts are the lowest since 2009 when he threw 451 in his second season in the NFL.
In Sunday’s season finale vs. the Texans, Ryan’s benching shows an elaboration of plugging Carr into the Indianapolis Hoosier Dome would allow their passing attack to potentially get well almost immediately.
Bucc-ing Brady Could Be Ideal For Carr
As the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (+600) likely will waive, “Adios,” to the great Tom Brady at the end of the season, the biggest need may then be a solid quarterback who can carry the team.
Derek Carr’s career tells you that he can fit in Tampa Bay and if the Buccaneers can move a running back forward, the potential of a balanced offense with a healthy offensive line could keep the Bucs atop the NFC South.
Brady will get the call again Sunday in the matchup with the Falcons although Tampa Bay has already won its division.
Stay tuned on this opportunity for Derek Carr predictions that he lands in Tampa Bay.

Panthers’ Prowl Elicits a Solid Value Bet in Carr
The best activity that the Carolina Panthers (+800) did was waive Baker Mayfield after quizzically picking him up from the Cleveland Browns.
Mayfield completed 57.8 percent of his passes with six touchdown throws vs. six interceptions in the seven games he played before the Panthers waived him.
Carr is a good value bet to land in Carolina where Panthers owner David Tepper has proven he will spend money in order to put a winner on the field as he invested $2.2B when he bought the Panthers in 2018.
Look at Carr vs. Mayfield, who wound up with the Rams after being jettisoned via waivers. Then, Carr would have Sam D’Arnold, PJ Walker, Jacob Eason as his competition in training camp next season.
He would easily be the top signal-caller since Cam Newton and could put the Panthers in a position to challenge for NFC South supremacy.
Carolina has had only one playoff appearance since going 15-1 in 2015 and making it to the Super Bowl where they lost to the Denver Broncos.

Packers Are Long Shot Entry in Carr Sweepstakes
Carr is an older weapon that will likely help a group of young players on his offense find their attack method. His personality is established as a leader, but there have been so many in-and-out players with the Raiders, Carr just hasn’t had an opportunity to get used to a group and invoke that leadership.
As the Green Bay Packers (+2000) will likely lose Aaron Rodgers, they have many young players that apparently couldn’t get on board with Rodgers as he potentially wouldn’t let them.
This level of passing attack would be strong alongside running back Aaron Jones, who currently has 1,073 yards rushing with seven touchdowns, five of which are through the air.
So take the Packers with Derek Carr next team odds at (+2000) to become a solid long shot for Carr’s services which would be prevalent with such a new group of receivers.
