Women’s 2024 NCAA Final 4 Betting Odds and Predictions

Following their 10-point win over Texas, the Wolfpack boast an overall record of 32-6. They had the most wins of any team in the ACC, but at 14-4, the Virginia Tech Hokies won one more conference game than NC State.

In the ACC Tournament, the Wolfpack were cut down by the Notre Dame Fighting Irish by a score of 55-51. Despite the loss, they have to be feeling good after their wins over Stanford and Texas in March Madness.

Meanwhile, South Carolina is the only team in the nation that hasn’t lost a game all season. They enter the Final Four with an overall team record of 36-0. If we include the 2022-23 season, South Carolina is 72-1 over the last two years!

NC State largely depends on Aziaha James to run the show for the Wolfpack. They aren’t completely one-dimensional, but James must be at her best for NC State to have success.

The 5-foot-9 junior is averaging 16.7 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 3 assists through the Elite Eight¹. If South Carolina can neutralize her, the Gamecocks will be in a great position to pull away. Saniya Rivers would need to step up doubly without James heating up.

Fortunately for them, the Gamecocks are not heavily dependent on one player. They are incredibly deep in the starting five and off the bench. That said, South Carolina operates around the center, Kamilla Cardoso.

She is a mismatch nightmare in the paint for opposing teams on defense and offense. In the NCAA Tournament, she has averaged 15.3 points, 1.3 steals, and one block per game².

The matchup of this game will be River Baldwin vs Cardoso. If Baldwin can consistently frustrate her opponent, then we could have a game on our hands. However, it’s a big ask and it’s hard to expect much against a player like Cardoso.

Overall, South Carolina is third in the NCAA with an average of 85.6 points scored per game. The Wolfpack lag behind the Gamecocks, with 73.8 points per contest for 47th in the nation. The difference between Texas, Stanford, and South Carolina is the defensive intensity, though.

South Carolina is the only group out of the three in the top 20 on defense. They’ve yielded an impressive 56 points per game entering the Final Four. The clean looks that NC State had against Texas and Stanford are unlikely to be there in this matchup.

On top of that, matching South Carolina’s depth is a recurring problem for any opponent and the same will ring true for NC State. The point spread on the women’s Final Four 2024 odds for this matchup is a couple of points too low.

The favorite can beat the spread, so I’m going for it.

Clark’s dominance is undeniable, but her team had some missteps along the way this season. Overall, Iowa owns a record of 33-4 and went 15-3 in the Big Ten. They fell a game shy of Ohio State’s conference record of 16-2.

Nevertheless, the Hawkeyes are on a ten-game winning streak and haven’t lost since an 86-69 defeat to the Indiana Hoosiers on Feb 22. In their latest outing, Iowa pulled away from LSU for a 94-87 win.

UConn edged out JuJu Watkins and the No. 1 seed USC Trojans with an 80-73 win in the Elite Eight. The Huskies moved to 33-5 on the season for their 13th consecutive win of this season.

UConn vs. Iowa features one of the most exciting matchups of the NCAA Tournament. Clark and Bueckers should have an all-time epic battle in this one.

Iowa’s offense is predicated on Clark shooting lights out from the floor. They aren’t as deep as other teams, but their star makes up for the lack of production elsewhere.

Entering the Final Four, Clark is averaging 31.7 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 8.9 assists per game. She is shooting 46% from the field and 37.7% from beyond the three-point stripe³.

Bueckers has the talent to trade points with Clark in the Final Four. The Huskies’ guard is shooting an efficient 53.6% from the field on 21.9 points per game. She has also averaged 5.1 rebounds and 3.8 assists per assignment.

In the NCAA Tournament, Bueckers is up to 28 points per game and active on the defensive end, with 3.3 steals and 1.5 blocks through the Elite Eight⁴.

In the more highly anticipated matchup of the women’s Final Four, I expect a classic battle between UConn and Iowa. There shouldn’t be much give or take on either side of the floor in Cleveland.

The Huskies rank second in women’s college basketball in NET ranking. Per the NCAA’s metric, which measures several key variables, only South Carolina’s numbers are more impressive than UConn’s⁵.

Iowa ranks fifth, with Stanford and Texas ranking ahead of Clark’s squad this season. Nevertheless, Clark isn’t allowing Bueckers to steal her spotlight. Iowa’s top-ranked offense will score points, but I am not so convinced that they’ll pull away to cover the spread.

For my UConn vs. Iowa 2024 Final Four prediction, I foresee a game that goes down to the wire. A game decided by one or two points isn’t out of the question in this powerhouse showdown. There is solid value on the Huskies at +3.5, especially since this team could win.
