The following AFC East betting odds are courtesy of Bovada:

TEAMODDS2023-24 RECORD
Buffalo Bills+16511-6
New York Jets+1707-10
Miami Dolphins+21511-6
New England Patriots+25004-13

The Buffalo Bills (+165) are favored to win the AFC East once again this season. However, there isn’t much separating the Bills and New York Jets (+170). The Bills have an 37.7% implied probability to win, while the Jets are at 37%!

Meanwhile, the Miami Dolphins (+215) have a solid case after narrowly missing out on the AFC East crown in 2023-24. At +215, the Dolphins have a 32.3% implied chance. The New England Patriots (+2500) are the only squad well out of the divisional race, according to the top sports betting sites.

Buffalo Bills (+165)

    • AFC East Position in 2023-24: 1st (11-6)
    • Key Players In: Curtis Samuel (WR), Marquez Valdes-Scantling (WR), Casey Toohill (DE), Keon Coleman (WR)
    • Key Players Out: Stefon Diggs (WR), Gabe Davis (WR), Jordan Poyer (S), Micah Hyde (S)
    • Head Coach: Sean McDermott

The Buffalo Bills are seeking to extend their dominance in the AFC East in 2024-25. Elite quarterback Josh Allen returns to the Bills without some of his favorite weapons.

Stefon Diggs has been Allen’s top target since he joined the Bills in 2020 from the Minnesota Vikings. Diggs recorded at least 1,183 yards and eight touchdowns in all four seasons.

In addition to Diggs, Gabe Davis, who was frustrating at times, but still a reliable receiving asset, has left Buffalo. The Bills are leaning on rookie Keon Coleman to step in right away and make an impact.

Coleman has the skill set that could be the next Mike Evans. However, he’s a rookie, so the Bills are relying on veterans Curtis Samuel and Marquez Valdes-Scantling to step in. The offense will be fine, but Diggs’ absence will be felt. Allen’s legs will have to work overtime this season.

The defense also sees key members of the secondary go elsewhere. Safety Jordan Poyer and Micah Hyde aren’t returning to Orchard Park. Re-signing Taylor Rapp and Taron Johnson was a must for the Bills’ defense.

Given some of the turnover on this team, there is stronger betting value on the 2024-25 AFC East winner odds elsewhere!

New York Jets (+170)

    • AFC East Position in 2023-24: 3rd (7-10)
    • Key Players In: Tyron Smith (OT), Mike Williams (WR), Javon Kinlaw (DT)
    • Key Players Out: Dalvin Cook (RB), Bryce Huff (LB), John Franklin-Myers (DE), Zach Wilson (QB)
    • Head Coach: Robert Saleh

Following a one-year delay in Aaron Rodgers’ career as a New York Jet, the 40-year-old veteran hopes to stay on the field in 2024-25. Rodgers’ first season with the Jets was cut short due to a devastating Achilles tendon tear in the first offensive series of his debut.

Will Rodgers bounce back to MVP form with the Jets? That is TBD. No one can give a definite answer at this juncture. Before Rodgers steps back on the field and starts taking snaps, it’s impossible to say whether he will move around in the pocket like he did with the Packers.

The Jets’ offensive line failing to block for Rodgers in the opening game was a precursor to an awful season to come. The offensive line was a turnstile, so they addressed a huge need by adding Pro Bowl left tackle Tyron Smith.

Additionally, Rodgers will have high-end targets in newcomer Mike Williams and Garrett Wilson!

The defense is loaded with talent in the secondary. Led by Sauce Gardner, the Jets were one of the toughest teams to pass on in the NFL. That will continue in 2024-25.

Nevertheless, Rodgers is on the wrong side of 40 and coming off a serious ankle injury. I wish I could trust the Jets more, but there aren’t any NFL betting guarantees.

Miami Dolphins (+210)

    • AFC East Position in 2023-24: 2nd (11-6)
    • Key Players In: Chop Robinson (LB), Jordan Poyer (S), Jordyn Brooks (LB), Odell Beckham Jr. (WR)
    • Key Players Out: Xavien Howard (CB), Christian Wilkins (DT), Brandon Jones (S), Jerome Baker (LB)
    • Head Coach: Mike McDaniel

Mike McDaniel took over as the head coach of the Miami Dolphins in 2022. In his first year, he led the Dolphins to a 9-8 record. He improved with two more wins and an 11-6 finish this past season.

There were missed opportunities for the Dolphins to make it 12 or even 13 wins, too. Tua Tagovailoa will be back for his third season in the NFL after a breakout campaign.

Tagovailoa passed for 4,624 yards, 29 touchdowns, and 14 interceptions. He and Tyreek Hill’s chemistry was among the best QB and receiver connections in the league.

While there are concerns Tagovailoa could hold out for a new contract, it it should be gone by Week 1. The quarterback will have a new weapon in the offense with Odell Beckham Jr. The former Ram isn’t what he used to be, but a nice addition for depth!

The defense lost a few vital pieces, including cornerback Xavien Howard and safety Brandon Jones, but added some impact players. Rookie linebacker Chop Robinson is a Defensive Rookie of the Year candidate, while veteran safety Jordan Poyer and linebacker Jordyn Brooks are valuable acquisitions.

With the Bills’ offense regressing and Rodgers’ health potential iffy, the Dolphins’ odds to win the AFC East are tempting at Bovada.

New England Patriots (+2500)

    • AFC East Position in 2023-24: 4th (4-13)
    • Key Players In:J. Osborn (WR), Drake Maye (QB), Jacoby Brissett (QB)
    • Key Players Out: Mac Jones (QB), DeVante Parker (WR), Trent Brown (OT)
    • Head Coach: Jerod Mayo

It is rebuilding time in Foxborough! After the soft rebuild failed and Bill Belichick’s retirement, the New England Patriots have blown the roster up. The Patriots will have a rookie head coach and quarterback at the controls in 2024-25.

Jerod Mayo will make his head coaching debut after serving as the Patriots’ insider linebacker coach from 2019 to 2023. He played for Belichick as a linebacker for seven years.

Mayo’s first move as head coach was to draft a franchise quarterback. The Patriots selected UNC’s Drake Maye with the third overall pick of the 2024 NFL Draft. The talent surrounding Maye is barren, though.

The Patriots will lean heavily on the ground game with newly re-signed Rhamondre Stevenson. Longtime mainstay on the offensive line, Trent Brown, won’t be there to block, however.

On a team too dependent on winning low-scoring games led by Maye or Jacoby Brissett, expect the Patriots to be non-factors again this season!

AFC East 2025 Predictions and Best Bet

The AFC East is shaping up to be one of the most competitive divisions in football. There isn’t much separating the Bills, Jets, and Dolphins in the 2024-25 AFC East winner odds.

The Bills are contending with a changing offense and Rodgers is recovering from an Achilles tendon injury at 40. The value isn’t there, so who will win the AFC East? My predictions for AFC East include the Dolphins prevailing at +210.

The offense should get off to a quick start with their main weapons returning. It could take a long minute for Allen to adjust to life without Diggs. Meanwhile, the Jets are dependent on Rodgers’ ankle holding up.

Who will win the AFC East? In conclusion, Miami’s third-best AFC East odds are the best bet on the board in 2024-25!
